Our Mission

Empowering Tomorrow Foundation's mission is to equip community youth with the healthy relationship tools they need to put them on the path to a brighter future.
Empowering Tomorrow Foundation is dedicated to supporting youth from diverse backgrounds and circumstances, including at-risk minority youth. In response to the pressing needs in our local communities (Hartford, Middlesex, Tolland, Windham, and New London Counties), we have launched a project to educate young people on the importance of sexual risk avoidance.  We provide programs that help strengthen families and provide aid to vulnerable youth.

Empowering Tomorrow Foundation seeks to reduce teen birth rates and Sexually Transmitted Infections among middle school and high school age youth by delivering Title V-SRAE education through evidence-based classroom curricula (Relationship Smarts PLUS 5.0 SRA and Love Notes 4.0 SRA) that includes risk avoidance strategies to help participants build healthy life skills and relationships, empower participants to make healthy decisions, provide community tools and resources, and prevent youth engagement in other risky behaviors. At Empowering Tomorrow Foundation, we believe in promoting social and emotional well-being. As healthy relationships start with the individual, youth will learn to build self-confidence and are encouraged to identify relationship qualities they find personally important.

Curriculum

Many young people today lack models of healthy relationships. A recent Child Trends survey of disadvantaged youth reported that while respondents could list general qualities for healthy relationships, when asked if they saw many around them, they said, “No.” More sadly, they said they had little confidence they would be able to achieve a healthy relationship despite their aspirations to develop one. Empowering Tomorrow Foundation utilizes the following curriculum from the Dibble Institute to change this growing trend.
